Diamonds Are Forever

Not only Marilyn Monroe and James Bond loved diamonds; it seems that Andy Warhol couldn’t get enough of the sparkly stones either!

Pictured is Warhol’s 1981 work Diamond Dust Gem, which he created by draining the color of the emerald cut stone, then reanimating it with the sparkling decadence of diamond dust. Warhol infused this work with symbolic contradictions, a staple in the iconic Pop artist’s work.

Estimated at US$150,000 to 250,000, Diamond Dust Gem is now live for bidding on artnet Auctions
